Pauline Mosley Durham Mercado 1912-2001
31 July 2001

Sunrise May 7, 1912-Sunset July 28, 2001

Pauline Mosley Durham Mercado, departed this life Saturday morning at the age of 89, after an extended illness, in Woodside, N.Y. Born in Dover, Delaware, the first daughter of Levi Burton Mosley and Mary Jane Carter, she came to New Jersey at the age of 3 years after the early death of her father, to live with her grandparents David and Lucinda Mosley.

After her second marriage to Efrain Mercado in 1969 she moved to New York where she worked as head machinist engineer in a large quilting factory until her retirement. She had battled cancer for about five years and with her usual strong Carter-Mosley spirit she really fought a great battle, most of the time on the winning side. She was an avid fan of the New York Mets from the time she moved to N.Y. And was President of the ''Lady Met'' club for several years before giving it up because of her health. At that time the Met Association dibanded the club because the members did not feel anyone else there could fill her shoes. She was really proud of the fact that one season she was asked and did throw out the first ball of the season. She was also honored several times by the Met Association, when they put her name up on the lighted scoreboard for her 80th Birthday etc. She was a real Met fan during good times and bad and always had season tickets. She also enjoyed the games played here in Bridgeton, attending the ''Bridgeton Invitational Games''. Her husband Efrain has been by her side all through the years at the games and through her illness. In Memory of Harry Morgan

You were more than a husband, father and friend to many people. Your door was always open to everyone, no matter how busy or how you may have felt. To me, you were like a father as well as a very good friend. I always enjoyed our visits as well as the laughter from your stories or little jokes.

I will always remember how much pride you always put in your flower garden and your beautiful yard, and I will especially remember how you loved Christmas as well as any child with your decorating, and friends going and coming enjoying the holidays. Words cannot express how much we will all miss and loved you, but you have given us so much more to remember than you could ever imagine. You are in God's House now, but I know you'll always be with us and in our hearts forever. Sadly missed, Nancy Mosley and Friends
