Eliza Jane Ingram Price was born to James H. and Mary (nee Tingle) Ingram. Mary Tingle was born to Jacob Tingle and Sarah Jackson in 1840. Sarah Jackson was the daughter of Israel Jackson and possibly Polly Hansor. Records of the Lewes and Cool Springs Presbyterian Church date the marriage of Israel Jackson and Polly Hansor (listed as "free mulattoes") as August 29, 1802.

Eliza Jane's father, James H. Ingram, was born abt 1831 to Charles and Mary (nee Bounds or Bounes) Ingram. Charlotte Ingram Jackson is also a descendant of Charles and Mary Bounds/Bounes Ingram. Charlotte's grandfather, William, was a brother of James H. Ingram. Charlotte's father, Leonzo, and Eliza Jane Ingram Price were first cousins.

Eliza Jane Ingram Price was an excellent seamstress. She was known for her kindness and her willingness to help anyone in need. Eliza Jane Ingram Price died 3 mos. short of her 100th birthday in 1979.

Many Ingram and Price descendants attend Mt. Zion A.M.E. Church in Ellendale, DE. The current Church building was obtained through the efforts of George and Annie Price Whaley. George and Annie were active in their church and domestic employees in the McNeil household. The McNeil family is known for creating Tylenol and other healthcare products. One day, the elder McNeil asked George what kind of projects he was working on at Church. George responded that they were raising money for a new building. The McNeil family stated that they would match whatever funds George and the Church raised. Through George Whaley's leadership, the congregation raised a considerable sum, which the McNeil family generously matched. A section of the Church is now known as the "Whaley-McNeil Fellowship Hall" in honor of the families who were influential in the creation of the new building.

There is a small scholarship fund at Mt. Zion A.M.E. called the Eliza Jane (Ingram) Price Society. The Whaley family's home is located directly across from the Church (as told to Dee Ellis by B. Branch).
