My father, Elmer Lester Mosley Jr., son of Elmer and Hazel Mosley, passed away on Feb. 2, 2007. The Mosley road near Big Stone Beach/Thompsonville DE is named after my Father's family. His Mom and Dad are buried in that area's John Wesley church as are his sister's husband and some children. The Late Mayor William Hart of East Orange N.J was my Aunt Punch's Husband. She is my father's sister.

I'm a jazz musician, public school teacher,and will retire from the Army National Guard in August.

My Father was born in 1935. He retired from the US Army and from a VA hospital in Havre De Grace Md. He enabled us to travel to several places through the Army.

He introduced me to many great blues guitarists who continue to influence my jazz playing quite a bit. Jazz without Blues and swing feels is not jazz to most of the greats, including me.

He made sure we were involved in many sport activities. I could have stuck with football as a very promising quarterback. Because of his Army duty station, we resided years ago near Edgewood Arsenal. It was a fairy tale compared to Harford County these days. The Bloods and Crips are there now. I really was lucky to have had many experiences from hunting to music because of him.

We visted DE almost every weekend,to see my grandparents . So I played in the country woods, went crabbing, shelled beans, played in cornfields,walked looking for snakes/turtles, andheard all the night sounds of the countryside all the time with my Uncle Bill's and Aunt Punch's Kids. Most are dead now. I miss them, parents and others in the Army/etc
