Dorothy Johnson 11/14/97, 814 Pine St, Wilmington, DE. Her family moved from Smyrna to Wilmington when she was 3 weeks old.

"Star of Bethlehem Chapter #8, O.E.S, P.H.A. Honors Sis. Dorothy Johnson, PGWM"

Sis. Dorothy Johnson, PGWM, became a member of Star of Bethlehem #8, O.E.S., P.H.A. in 1948. After serving on all of the positions, she served as worthy matron from 1953-1955. Her worthy patrons were: Bro. Earl Taylor, PGWP, and her husband, Bro. Joseph Johnson. After leaving the chair, she became involved in St. Matthews grand chapter. Again she served all stations, and was elected grand worthy matron in 1963. Her grand worthy patron was Bro. George Stewart, and she served from 1963-1965. Sis. Johnson attended O.E.S. conventions for 23 years, and continued to attend her chapter meetings until her health failed her. She will have 50 years as an Eastern Star in 1998. Her motto is: "Be not overcome with evil, but overcome evil with good."
