OTHER ITEMS PERTAINING TO WILLIAM H. GOULD, NOT FROM THE PENSION RECORDS:
*William and Hannah are buried at Gouldtown Memorial Park, Gouldtown, Cumberland Co, N.J. Scanned images of their tombstones attached. (Photos taken Aug 2002).
(William's headstone is very hard to read, but I had made a note upon my visit that the birth date appeared to be Aug 3, 1836. However, all of the records in his pension file give his birth date as Aug 3, 1835).

William and Hannah are both listed in "Gouldtown: A Very Remarkable Settlement of Ancient Date" by William Steward & Theophilus G. Steward, copyright 1913, reprinted 1994. The following pieces of information are drawn from this book:
1. William was the son of Anthony Gould II (1813-1891) and Alameda Pierce Gould.
2. Hannah was the daughter of Elisha Gould, Jr. (b. 1788) and Mary Cuff Gould.
3. William and Hannah were first-cousins-once-removed prior to marrying. William's paternal grandfather Charles Gould and Hannah's father Elisha Gould, Jr. were brothers.
4. Hannah's middle name was Caroline.
5. William & Hannah's daughter Luella married John Coombs.
6. William & Hannah's daughter Melissa married George Cuff.
On the African American Civil War Memorial in Washington DC, William's name is displayed on Plaque B-38.

QUERY ITEMS:
1. Does anyone have any photos of William or Hannah?
2. Does anyone know what William's middle initial "H" stands for?
3. Does anyone have a copy of William or Hannah's death certificate from the N.J. vital statistics dept?
4. For some reason, neither William nor Hannah seem to be posted here.

Does anyone know why? Were they somehow missed in the cemetery survey?
